Wrexham have been linked with a move for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans, who will leave Old Trafford after his second spell at the club following the expiry of his contract. The Northern Irishman initially signed under Erik ten Hag as a stop-gap to help on their 2023 pre-season summer tour but became a dependable reserve option and penned another one-year extension in 2024. The Sun now say Evans could be pursued due to his status as an international over 30 years of age with an expiring contract.

Wrexham are on the lookout for free transfer opportunities this summer and have targeted players with Premier League experience in the past. The likes of James McClean, Steven Fletcher and Ben Foster have featured at the Racecourse in recent years and more are likely to follow after their latest promotion, with stars like Jamie Vardy, Raheem Sterling and even Kevin De Bruyne linked with moves to Wales.
