Leeds United are something of a calamity club at times.
The Whites have had their fair share of gaffes over the years both on and off the pitch.
Indeed, whether it’s bottling promotion or tweeting telling fans to stay up late on deadline day before announcing two sales, there’s always something for a neutral to be laughing about.
One man who hasn’t helped that reputation is Angus Kinnear.
The Managing Director has made his fair share of easily-criticised comments, and Danny Mills hasn’t held back when speaking about his most recent admission.

What’s been said then?
Speaking to Football Insider, Mills slated Kinnear for revealing a number of transfer targets that the club were in for last month when talking to BBC Radio Leeds (comments available via LeedsLive).
Mills said: “You start to think how serious were they? Is it an attempt to appease the fans? I don’t know. Why are you coming out now and saying these things, what benefit is it to anybody?
“‘Oh look, we did try, honestly, promise. We really did try to get other players in and we couldn’t make it happen.’ Well, I don’t see the point in that to be honest, is that just trying to appease the fans?
“I don’t think it really does because they’ll say why didn’t they come? Were you not prepared to pay the money or why didn’t we get these players in? I think that’ll be what part of the worry is.”
Stay quiet Angus
Kinnear could be the best managing director in the world behind the scenes, but these sort of comments don’t help his public image one bit.
Mills’ criticisms are right, why would he admit to his shortcomings in order to appease the supporters?
The problem is that this isn’t the first time that Kinnear has made silly comments that can easily be picked apart.
He made it very clear that the club weren’t going to be messing around with the playoffs this season, but as it stands that’s a real possibility. He also said that United wanted to act fast in January, but in the end, they left it late to bring in Jean-Kevin Augustin, signing him in the final week of the window.
Perhaps it’d be better for everyone if Kinnear just stays away from the media from now on.
In other news, Leeds have been missing an under-appreciated aspect of Kalvin Phillips’ game.
