Arsenal and Unai Emery will look to make it 19 games unbeaten as they travel to Kiev to face Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League this evening but, as the squad was announced yesterday, there are a few notable omissions – not that the fans mind one bit.
The Gunners currently top Group E with ten points and have guaranteed knockout stage qualification so, with this weekend’s north London derby looming, Emery has chosen to leave his biggest hitters in the capital and give some of the youngsters seats on the plane.
Of the senior players, Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech stand out – both will be hoping to give their Spanish boss a headache ahead of the Premier League fixture this weekend – while Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be seeking atonement for his poor performance at Bournemouth on Sunday.
