Never one to keep quiet, avid Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has had his say on the Granit Xhaka situation. The Swiss midfielder found himself embroiled in controversy last week after responding negatively to fans jeering him as he walked off the pitch during Arsenal’s disappointing 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace. In a symbolic gesture that enough was enough, he threw down the captain’s armband, pulled out an ear cup gesture to fans, dodged past the man who crowned him, Unai Emery, threw down his shirt and made a beeline for the changing rooms.Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a man who has saved the club on a number of occasions this season, having scored seven goals in ten Premier League games – including the winner against Burnley and equaliser at Old Trafford, was also abused on Sunday after being confronted as he tried to leave the Emirates in his painfully conspicuous chrome Lamborghini.Xhaka revealed on Thursday evening that he had reached ‘boiling point’ and his reaction was due to constant sickening abuse aimed at him and his family. While Morgan agrees the treatment of Xhaka has been abhorrent, he notes that it doesn’t detract from the fact he’s simply not good enough.See Morgan’s verdict on Xhaka’s apology below…
