Sesko became United's biggest signing of the summer when he completed a move from RB Leipzig for a fee rising to £74m ($100m). Some reports had suggested that Amorim was more in favour of signing an established Premier League striker such as Ollie Watkins but the coach said he was delighted to be working with the Slovenia international.

Amorim told a press conference on Friday: "I am really happy, he has great potential, everything he does he can play different types of football. He is going to learn. I can see Ben be a striker for Man United for many years. That’s why we paid so much money to have a striker who can have his history at this club."

Sesko has had less than a week to work with his new team-mates but Amorim had no doubts about his fitness levels. He added: "We haven't had a lot of time, but he is ready. First of all physically he is ready, that is a big component in our league, then he is really smart, he asks about every detail. He is always thinking, he spends all afternoon working on his fitness. He is ready to play, we will see if he starts."
DID YOU KNOW?
Amorim called Sesko a football "obsessive", praising his attitude to staying sharp and his willingness to always improve his understanding of the game. The coach said: "He is one guy who stays here have lunch and goes to the medical department, he is always thinking about football, every game is do or die, you don’t have to think about that aspect with one guy. I don’t need to tell Ben, with that guy I don’t have that concern, I have the opposite, enjoy a bit."
