Dean Windass reckons that Tammy Abraham is exactly the type of striker that Patrick Vieira is looking for at Crystal Palace.
Whilst Christian Benteke has already extended his stay at Selhurst Park, the Eagles desperately need a more prolific goalscorer heading into next season.
The Belgian ended last season in red-hot form, but it was largely another disappointing campaign prior to that moment, like most of the previous four years.
His form has left Palace in the market for another striker, with Abraham already told that he’s not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans moving forward and is free to leave Chelsea after two years in the first-team.
Abraham, who’s reported to be on Palace’s radar, was the Blues joint top goalscorer in all competitions in 2020-2021, but hardly featured following Tuchel’s arrival and didn’t even make the squad for the Champions League final.
West Ham and Arsenal have both been mentioned as Abraham’s potential next club, but Windass exclusively told Football FanCast that Palace might be his best option:
“With Patrick Vieira knowing Thierry Henry as a number one, I think he will be a great fit for Crystal Palace. I think he’s Patrick Vieira’s type, a tall lad, get balls in the box.
“He’s young and Patrick will want to bring young blood in and that could be great for Crystal Palace.”
